Audition: Are you our new tenor?

On Wednesday August 28th Ars Nova will host an audition. We are looking for a tenor.

ARS NOVA Copenhagen is one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles particularly in early and contemporary music. This with an annual concert season in Denmark, tours to a long list of countries and a long catalogue of critically acclaimed albums. The group consists of 12 professional singers conducted by chief conductor Sofi Jeannin.

The job: ARS NOVA is a professional ensemble, and singers are paid by the hour. There are typically 6-8 projects of 2-3 week periods a year, which corresponds to roughly 400 hours. When employed you are expected to participate in all rehearsals, concerts and tours.

Your profile: We expect you to be experienced as an ensemble singer as well as a soloist on an advanced professional level. We need a flexible singer with a sound that fits into the voice group, combined with the initiative of the solo singer. ARS NOVA is organised as a union and is as such dependent on the commitment of the members of the group. An active interest and effort for the continued positive development of the group is therefore expected.

The Audition: is held on Wednesday August 28th after 1 pm in the Copenhagen area or in rare cases by special appointment. Candidates must prepare two self-chosen songs or arias (not operatic) of contrasted style and language. Your sight-reading and ensemble-singing skills may also be tested.

Application with CV (max one A4), photo and sound clip or link to sound clip are send by email to jakob@arsnova.dk. The deadline for the application is Wednesday August 21st.
Remember to write which songs you wish to sing. ARS NOVA will provide the pianist. You will receive a reply from us whether or not you are invited to audition as soon as possible after we have received your application.
